Actress Sara Ali Khan, who recently started shooting for an upcoming Amazon Original film Ae Watan Mere Watan, says wrapping two films so far this year and starting the shoot for a third film was her “Chaka Chak” moment — a reference to the popular Chaka Chak song from her film Atrangi Re.
“Wrapping two films has been Chaka Chak after two years of silence during the lockdown,” she said.
Sara wrapped the shoot for Gaslight opposite Vikrant Massey earlier this year. Her second project this year is a yet-to-be-titled film opposite Vicky Kaushal, the shoot for which is also complete.
In Ae Watan Mere Watan, Sara will be playing the role of a freedom fighter. She shared the teaser for the film on social media, which had actor Varun Dhawan making the film’s announcement in the actress’ trademark style of using cringy rhymes.
Besides focusing on her career, Sara has also joined hands with IAS officer-turned-actor Abhishek Singh to raise awareness regarding non-consensual media sharing. The actor duo visited Miranda House College in New Delhi where they interacted with young girls, who are at risk of falling victim to non-consensual media sharing.
During the event, Sara urged the girls to raise their voices and not feel ashamed if their private images are shared on the internet without their permission. She asked them to find “No Shame” in bringing the incident to the attention of concerned authorities and promised to create a safer space for women.
