Citadel: Honey Bunny actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has given a shout-out to Italian actress Matilda De Angelis ahead of the latter’s Citadel: Diana premiere.
The Italian instalment of Prime Video and AGBO’s Citadel franchise is set to stream from October 10.
“You Saaaxxxyyyy thinggg,” the 37-year-old actress, who is going to star alongside Varun Dhawan in Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian instalment of the Citadel franchise, wrote alongside a post by Angelis from the Rome premiere of the upcoming Italian series. “One week to go!! #CitadelDiana,” the Kushi star added.
In Citadel: Diana, agent Diana Cavalieri, played by Matilda De Angelis, is on a mission to unravel the truth behind her parents’ deaths. After vowing to avenge them, she goes undercover for the global spy agency Citadel, which was destroyed by the enemy syndicate Manticore.
Citadel: Diana, directed by Arnaldo Catinari and developed by Alessandro Fabbri, is produced by the Russo brothers, who also produced the original series starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. It is slated to hit Prime Video on October 10.
The first season of the original show premiered on Prime Video on April 28, 2023. The series has already been renewed for a second season and has begun production recently, with Joe Russo serving as the director.
Priyanka, Samantha and Angelis recently attended a special screening of Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana in London. While Priyanka stunned in a vibrant red bodycon dress, Samantha looked chic in a navy blue ensemble. Matilda opted for a shimmery golden outfit paired with high-length boots. “The Women and team of the Citadel universe,” Priyanka wrote alongside pictures from the event.
Citadel: Honey Bunny, slated to premiere on Prime Video on November 7, also stars Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. The series follows Samantha and Varun as spies undertaking various missions.
Prime Video previously announced that the spin-offs of the original series will be set in India, Spain, Italy and Mexico, with Priyanka’s show serving as the anchor point for all these adaptations.
