Actress Disha Patani commented on Samantha’s post, wishing her the best.

First announced in July, Rakt Bramhand promises a "gripping, edgy narrative set against the backdrop of a fantastical kingdom with bloody action and spectacular visuals".

"We’ve got BIGGGGGG news that’ll stir your blood. We’re pumped to announce our first-ever action-fantasy series. Showrunners: Raj & DK. Directed by: Raj & DK, Rahi Anil Barve. Developed by: Sita R Menon," the makers wrote, sharing a poster on social media.

Known for The Family Man and Guns and Gulaabs, filmmakers Krishna D.K. and Raj Nidimoru have teamed up with Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve and writer Sita R. Menon under their production company D2R Films for the upcoming series.

Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom will also feature Aditya Roy Kapoor, Wamiqa Gabbi and Mirzapur actor Ali Fazal.

On the work front, Samantha will also star opposite Varun Dhawan in Raj & DK’s upcoming spy series Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian instalment of the globally acclaimed action-thriller franchise Citadel, originally starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Produced by D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, Citadel: Honey Bunny is slated to hit Prime Video on November 7.

Samantha also has the Telugu film Bangaram in the pipeline.

In July last year, the Chennai Story actress had taken a break from her career after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition called Myositis, characterised by chronic muscle inflammation. During the hiatus, Samantha continued to post photos on social media from her travels to various destinations in the US and Europe.

Samantha was last seen in Shiva Nirvana’s romantic comedy Kushi (2023) opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
