Salman Khan-starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ) has emerged as the fourth-highest opening day grosser among Hindi films in the post-pandemic era, collecting Rs 15.81 crore on Day 1 in theatres, as per box office figures.
The Farhad Samji-directorial that marks Salman’s return to the big screen after around four years fell short of the Day 1 collection of the actor’s last big-screen release Dabangg 3 (2019), which raked in Rs 24.50 crore on its opening day.
Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (Rs 57 crore nett), Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra (Rs 36 crore nett) and Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi (Rs 26.29 crore nett) hold the top three spots in terms of Day 1 collection at the box office after the Covid-induced curbs were lifted in 2021.
According to Box Office India, KKBKKJ has managed to draw the audience to the theatres in mass pockets but not in metro cities except Hyderabad. The film is performing well in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Andhra region, the report highlighted.
Salman’s Race 3 (2018) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) collected Rs 28.50 crore and Rs 27.25 crore nett, respectively, on their opening day.
Other than Salman, KKBKKJ also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Vijender Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar in significant roles. Ram Charan makes a special appearance during the song Yentamma in the movie.
