Saira Banu welcomes new year with Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao: ‘He has been with me during some really tough times’

Apart from Aamir and Kiran, the veteran actress also enjoyed the company of the Dangal star’s mother Zeenat Hussain on the occasion

Saira Banu rang in the new year with Aamir Khan, his ex-wife Kiran Rao and his mother Zeenat Hussain, the veteran actress revealed on Tuesday in a heartfelt note where she also mentioned how the Bollywood star has always been there for her.

Sharing pictures from the celebrations, the 79-year-old actress opened up about the importance of Aamir’s presence in her life. “For Sahib and me, Aamir has been this unchangeable presence. To this day, Aamir still holds a deep admiration for Dilip Sahib and everything he brought to Indian Cinema.”

Saira mentioned that Dilip Kumar also had a “genuine appreciation” for Aamir’s acting prowess and how he “flawlessly brings characters to life on screen”. She went on to state that she is not only moved by Aamir’s brilliance on screen but also the way he has embraced the role of a family member in their life.

The veteran actress, known for blockbusters like Padosan (1968) and Shagrid (1967), also revealed how Aamir always stood as a pillar during challenging times. “Aamir has been with me during some really tough times. I remember when I was putting together Dilip Sahib's autobiography, ‘The Substance And The Shadow’, Aamir stepped up in every way imaginable, offering support and lending a helping hand,” she wrote.

Saira concluded her note by expressing her gratitude towards Aamir and his family for celebrating the new year with her. “It was wonderful to start the new year with warm company, heartfelt conversations, and a delightful stroll down memory lane with Dilip Sahib.”
