The social media trend #MeAt21 has gained traction in the Bollywood circle with actresses Raveena Tandon, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Kangana Ranaut posting throwback pictures from when they were 21 years old.

Kajol was one of the first Bollywood stars to follow the trend. She posted a photo of herself in a white shirt, posing on a bike. Offering her younger self a “pat on the back”, the Salaam Venky (2022) actress gave a glimpse from the sets of the Tamil film Minsara Kanavu (1997), a love-triangle starring Prabhu Deva and Arvind Swamy.

Keeping up with her fellow actresses, Raveena Tandon shared a slew of photos from when she was 21. She first shared a collage of her photo from when she was 21 with a recent photo. In a follow-up post, the Karmma Calling actress shared six more old photos, one of which has Sunil Shetty posing in the background.

It is not just the ’90s actresses who jumped on the bandwagon. Priyanka Chopra gave a glimpse of her looks from the early 2000s. She shared a number of pictures on her Instagram stories.

Priyanka’s Fashion (2008) co-star Kangana Ranaut shared her throwback photos and said how she is proud of her 21-year-old self for “ruffling many feathers” and being financially independent.

Along with a series of throwback looks from her films, Bipasha Basu shared a then-and-now collage on her Instagram stories with the message “love yourself”.

Kareena Kapoor not only offered a look back to her 21-year-old self but also a throwback to Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 2001 film Asoka, where she played the role of Kaurwaki, the princess of Kalinga.
