Actress Raveena Tandon is making a return to the digital space early next year with Disney+ Hotstar series Karmma Calling, following her OTT debut with 2021 Netflix thriller Aranyak, the makers confirmed through a short teaser on Friday.
The Satta actress plays a wealthy and ruthless woman named Indrani Kothari from Alibaug society in the upcoming series, which is set to premiere on January 26, 2024. Her character thrives in a head-spinning world of glamour, glitz, deceit and betrayal.
In the teaser, Raveena’s character is seen wearing a dazzling outfit and holding a glass of wine. “To succeed, there are no rules. There’s no right or wrong. To hell with the ethics and morals, and also your near and dear ones. They say what goes around, comes around. But I say, when the world is at your feet, even Karma can’t bring you down,” she says.
The caption accompanying the teaser reads, "What goes around, comes around? Let Karma come calling, she will handle it."
Karmma Calling is inspired by Alexandre Dumas’s classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo and adapted from the American TV series Revenge. It is produced by R.A.T. Films and helmed by Ruchi Narain.
