Actress Rasika Dugal has recently revealed that she used to get spooked every time she would go back to her room after the shoot of the upcoming Amazon Prime Video horror series Adhura.

“The eerie atmosphere on the set was unlike anything I experienced before and spooked me every time I got back to the room after shooting. The suspenseful storyline and the immersive production design had a profound effect on me,” she said.

The actress, whose performance in Prime Video’s Mirzapur received plaudits by both critics and audiences, also talked about how the line between reality and fiction used to get blurred during the spooky series. “There were moments when the line between fiction and reality blurred, leaving me with a lingering sense of unease even when the cameras stopped rolling.”

Adhura marks Prime Video’s foray into the Hindi Horror genre and will premiere on Prime Video on July 7. The spine-chilling trailer of the show, dropped by the streamer on June 28, promises a spooky experience for viewers as it traces how a boarding school reunion turns into a horror show when a current student gets possessed by a spirit.

Produced by Emmay Entertainment and directed by Ananya Banerjee and Gauravv K Chawla, Adhura features Ishwak Singh, Poojan Chhabra, Rijul Ray, Zoa Morani, Sahil Salathia, Aru Krishansh Verma as high school friends. Rasika, Shrenik Arora and Rahul Dev also play pivotal roles in the Prime Video horror series.
