Actress Rashmika Mandanna has shared behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise ahead of the November 17 trailer release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. In an accompanying note, Rashmika revealed details about her character, Srivalli, and her origins from Tirupati.
“The trailer for Pushpa 2 drops soon so I was looking back at all my memories from Pushpa 1 and I realised I hadn’t shared anything with you guys...so here goes,” wrote the actress on Instagram on Thursday.
The carousel features Rashmika striking funny poses on set. The actress has also shared pictures with co-star Allu Arjun and director Sukumar. The montage includes glimpses from the film’s promotional event in Russia, where Rashmika, Allu, Sukumar, and the crew recreated Allu’s iconic chin rub pose from Pushpa 1. Additionally, Rashmika has shared throwback pictures from the Saami Saami song shoot.
Reflecting on the research behind Srivalli’s character, Rashmika wrote, “Srivalli’s hair, makeup, and costumes could be a fashion line of their own. We debated whether Srivalli should have different eyes, and eventually decided against black lenses, keeping my natural eye colour. So glad with what we created. Going to Tirupati and researching for the character...Srivalli actually began in Tirupati.”
Pushpa: The Rise starred Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, a lorry driver rising through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. Rashmika played Pushpa’s beloved, Srivalli, a milk seller whom he married towards the end of the film. Released on December 17, 2021, the film grossed approximately Rs 350 crore worldwide, thereby emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film that year.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will continue Pushpa’s story, stars Allu and Rashmika alongside Fahadh Faasil. Directed by Sukumar, the film also features Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh.
The music is by Devi Sri Prasad, while Miroslaw Kuba Brozek handles the cinematography. Pushpa 2: The Rule is slated to hit theatres on December 5.
