Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri appear as TV news anchors to announce their upcoming film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in a teaser dropped by the makers on Wednesday.

The one-minute-20-second teaser opens with both Rajkummar and Triptii as they appear as 90s-style news anchors on a vintage television set. They announce the film’s producers during a mock breaking news segment. They also playfully refer to each other’s recent films Stree 2 and Animal. “The male lead is a purush from Stree,” quips Triptii, while Rajkummar humorously sings the song Pehle Bhi Main from Animal to introduce Triptii as the female lead.

Produced by T-Series head Bhushan Kumar and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is touted as a “pure 90s film”. Its trailer will drop on September 12.

The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Mast Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Archana Patel, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania and Ashwini Kalsekar.

“It revolves around the pandemonium in a small town when a VHS tape containing an intimate video of Vicky and Vidya in 90s,” reads the official synopsis of the film on IMDb.

Also produced by Krishan Kumar, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is penned by Shaandilyaa and Yusuf Ali Khan. Shaandilyaa, Shobha Kapoor, Ekta R Kapoor, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl and Vimal Lahoti also serve as the producers of the film.

Rajkummar was recently seen in Stree 2 alongside Shraddha Kapoor. He also featured in Sharan Sharma’s sports drama Mr and Mrs Mahi and the biopic Srikanth this year.

Triptii, who made her debut with the 2017 comedy film Poster Boys, was last seen in Bad Newz alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.
