Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 joins Rs 100-crore club in two days

The Amar Kaushik-helmed horror comedy has raked in Rs 100.1 crore nett in India so far

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 has stormed into the Rs 100-crore club at the domestic box office on its second day in theatres, the makers announced on Saturday.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy has raked in Rs 100.1 crore nett in India in just two days. Stree 2 had an impressive opening, bringing in Rs 64.8 crore nett on its first day, including earnings from paid previews, and added an additional Rs 35.3 crore nett on the second day.

Stree 2 has earned Rs 118 crore nett worldwide in two days.

According to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk, Stree 2 maintained strong audience turnout in key regions. In Delhi-NCR, the film recorded a 56.75 per cent occupancy across 1,175 shows, while in Mumbai, with 1,107 shows, the occupancy was 43.5 per cent.

Stree 2 has outperformed last year’s Independence Day release, Gadar 2, which earned Rs 83.18 crore nett in its first two days.

Stree 2 outshined its competitors that debuted on the same day, including Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. The Mudassar Aziz-helmed comedy earned Rs 1.9 crore nett on its second day, pushing its total to Rs 6.95 crore nett, while Vedaa earned Rs 1.6 crore nett, with a total of Rs 7.9 crore nett in two days.

With an extended weekend, including the Raksha Bandhan holiday on Monday, Stree 2 is set for a record-breaking opening weekend, according to trade analysts. The film is a part of Maddock Films’ supernatural comedy universe, which began with Stree in 2018 and has since offered films like Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024).
