Actor R Madhavan on Monday shared a new poster of his upcoming directorial venture Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is slated to hit the theatres globally on July 1.
Based on the life and works of ISRO scientist Shri Nambi Narayanan, the film is written, directed and produced by the actor who will be playing the titular role in it. The film is produced under the banners of Tricolour Films and Varghese Moolan Pictures.
The new poster of the movie has a patriotic message with the tricolour of India in the foreground alongside a rocket and the actor’s face.
Earlier, the biographical drama had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19. The actor conveyed the news via his social media handle.
“Verified ROCKETRY WORLD PREMIER AT CANNES. May 19 th 9 pm. Did not imagine this when we began this journey. The only objective was to tell the story of Shri Nambi Narayanan. .. that desire has brought us a long way with all your blessings and the grace of God,” the post read.
The actor, who is known for Bollywood films like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Rang De Basanti and Tanu Weds Manu, shared a video on Instagram, captioning it “#RocketryAtCannes”.
The upcoming film follows Narayanan from his days as an undergraduate student at Princeton University through his profession as a scientist at Indian Space Research Organisation and the false espionage charges levelled against him.
According to some reports, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has a guest appearance in the film.
The film was formally announced in 2018 and took almost four years to complete. The film was shot simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and English and will also be released in the Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
