Actor R. Madhavan calls Ajay Devgn the “real Singham” of the Indian film industry in a promo video of their upcoming supernatural thriller Shaitaan, set to hit theatres on March 8.

“If there is any Singham, the real Singham in the Industry...it is this man over here,” says Madhavan, as glimpses of Devgn in an all-black ensemble appear on the screen.

In tune with the eerie trailer dropped by the makers on February 22, the promotional event featured dressed up sorcerers, pentacles and simulations of human bones. The lead cast of the film sported black outfits at the event. While Ajay looked dapper in a black jacket paired with black trousers, Madhavan opted for a double-breasted black blazer. Jyotika turned heads in a black pantsuit.

Clips from the trailer, played during the event, prompted a loud applause from the audience.

Also featuring Janki Bodiwala as Janhvi, Shaitaan delves into the harrowing tale of a couple — Devgn and Jyotika — struggling to free their innocent daughter from the sinister grasp of a malevolent sorcerer, played by Madhavan.

Shaitaan is jointly produced by Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Panorama Studios, Devgn films and Jio Studios, known for movies like Drishyam, Special 26, Tanhaji and Raid.
