A sari-clad Allu Arjun wields a trident and unleashes his rage on goons during a festival in the teaser of Pushpa 2: The Rule, a sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 film Pusha: The Rise, dropped by the makers on Monday to mark the actor’s 42nd birthday.
Set to a loud sequence of beating drums, the one-minute-eight-second-long teaser begins with holy chants performed by devotees and priests during a ritual. The camera then pans to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa wearing anklets while stepping aggressively on a pile of vermillion. He applies some kohl to his blue-and-red painted face and cuts the middle of his forehead with his trident.
While the devotees surround him, he rotates his trident, gearing up for the triumph of good over evil. The video then gives a full-shot of Pushpa’s look in the blue silk sari cinched at the helm by a golden waist belt, as he prepares himself for a fight with his enemies. He sports a white garland and golden bangles, and a third eye painted in the middle of his forehead completes his compelling look.
The teaser ends with Pushpa beating up gangsters while people gather around him and watch him intently.
“The clash is on as Pushpa and Bhanwar Singh continue their rivalry in this epic conclusion to the two-part action drama,” reads the official synopsis of the film on IMDb.
“I thank each and everyone of you for the birthday wishes! My heart is full of gratitude. Please take this teaser as my way of saying thank you,” Allu wrote alongside the teaser shared on X (formerly Twitter).
“Celebrate his arrival. Adore his fire within. Experience the goosebumps,” the film’s production house Mythri Movie Makers wrote alongside the teaser on X.
Apart from Allu, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Written and directed by Sukumar, the film also features Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Suneel, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh in key roles.
Devi Sri Prasad has served as the film’s music composer, while Miroslaw Kuba Brozek has worked on the cinematography.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is slated to release in theatres on August 15.
