Priyanka Chopra Jonas names Anne Carey as film and television president for Purple Pebble Pictures

The 42-year-old actress launched her own production banner in 2015

Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ production banner Purple Pebble Pictures has roped in producer Anne Carey as its new president of film and television, the actress confirmed on Wednesday.

“I’m so pleased to welcome the newest member of our @purplepebblepictures team, Anne Carey, as the President of Film and TV. She brings with her a wealth of expertise and innovative thinking. I’m so looking forward to an amazing and creative journey ahead together,” Priyanka wrote, sharing a screenshot of a news article by US-based entertainment portal Variety on Instagram.

Carey previously worked at Archer Gray, where she was a partner and served as President of Production. During her time there, she produced Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch, starring Amy Adams, which premiered internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival and is set to be released by Fox Searchlight later this year.

At Archer Gray, Carey also produced the Amazon drama series Dead Ringers (2023), written by Alice Birch and starring Rachel Weisz. Furthermore, she produced The Persian Version (2023), written and directed by Maryam Keshavarz.

Carey's other notable projects include Liz Garbus’ Lost Girls (2020), Marielle Heller’s Can You Ever Forgive Me (2018) and The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015) and Bill Condon’s Mr. Holmes (2015). Prior to Archer Gray, Carey worked on films such as The Savages (2007) Adventureland (2009) and The American (2010).

Priyanka launched Purple Pebble Pictures in 2015. The Mumbai-based production house has backed various films, including Ventilator (2016) and The Sky Is Pink (2019). Priyanka also served as the executive producer for the Oscar-nominated documentary To Kill a Tiger (2024). Further, Priyanka recently announced that she has joined Canadian filmmaker Barry Avrich’s upcoming documentary Born Hungry as a producer.

According to Variety, Purple Pebble Pictures entered into a first-look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios in 2020, which has since been extended to include both film and television projects.

On the work front, Priyanka recently wrapped up shooting for her upcoming action film The Bluff, helmed by Frank Ewen Flowers. She has also started shooting for the second season of her popular Prime Video series Citadel. Additionally, the 42-year-old actress is set to star in Ilya Naishuller’s Heads of State alongside Idris Elba, John Cena, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root and Carla Gugino. Additionally, she is expected to be a part of Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa along with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
