Both Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and Dunki did brisk business on Christmas Day in India. The Prabhas-starrer came on top with an estimated Rs 42 crore nett, almost double the amount collected by the Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy drama led by Shah Rukh Khan on the day.
Salaar’s success story began with a stellar opening day haul of Rs 90.7 crore nett. Over the first weekend, the film accumulated Rs 118.4 crore. With Monday’s earnings, the total collection of the Prabhas-starrer actioner reached a whopping Rs 254.87 crore within just four days of its release.
Amid the Salaar storm at the box office, Dunki managed to earn Rs 22.50 crore nett on December 25, taking its Day 5 domestic collection to Rs 128.13 crore nett, an impressive but not-good-enough achievement when compared to the Prabhas-led actioner’s performance.
Though Dunki started on a slower note with a collection of Rs 29.2 crore nett and experienced further slide with Rs 20.12 crore nett on the second day, it gained momentum over the weekend, minting Rs 56.31 crore nett over Saturday and Sunday.
Apart from its box office triumph in India, Salaar also recorded a staggering worldwide collection of Rs 402 crore in the first three days. Shah Rukh’s film — his third of the year after Pathaan and Jawan — managed to rake in Rs 211.13 crore gross worldwide after four days of release.
