Directed by Mani Ratnam, the romantic thriller recently marked 26 years of its release. Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment celebrated the occasion with a video featuring moments from the film that also starred Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta.

“A saga of love, beauty, & emotions that we’ll always love ‘Dil Se’ Celebrating 26 years of #DilSe,” wrote the production house on Instagram.

Dil Se follows radio journalist Amarkant Verma (Shah Rukh), who falls in love with a mysterious woman, Meghna, alias Moina (Manisha). However, she keeps eluding him, leading him to uncover her secret mission and traumatic past. Preity Zinta plays Preeti Verma, whose marriage to Amarkant is arranged by their families.

Released theatrically on August 21, 1998, the film garnered Rs 14.90 crore nett at the domestic box-office, according to industry data-tracking site Sacnilk. At the 46th National Film Awards that year, Dil Se bagged two trophies — best cinematography and best audiography.

Shah Rukh will next appear in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film King, which is also expected to feature his daughter Suhana Khan. Abhishek Bachchan is likely to play the role of an antagonist in the film.

Dil Se is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

Piyush was last seen in S. Shankar’s Indian 2 alongside Kamal Haasan. This year, he also starred in Main Atal Hoon alongside Pankaj Tripathi.
