Popular anime series One Piece, which debuted almost 24 years ago in 1999, will be available to stream in India for the first time from September 30, anime and manga streaming platform Crunchyroll has announced.
Episodes 892-1077, which follow the adventures of protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates in the Land of Wano, will be available to stream from September 30, the streaming platform said in a statement. From October 1, Crunchyroll in India will simulcast Episode 1078 and the other new episodes every week as they premiere in Japan, their statement further read. The episodes will be available in Japanese with English subtitles.
Having marked its 1,000th episode in 2021, the anime continues to focus on the escapades of Monkey D. Luffy while he attempts to attain the Legendary One Piece treasure left by the King of the Pirates in his quest to become the King himself.
Luffy, voiced by Mayumi Tanaka, will be joined by his motley crew, with Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp and Hiroaki Hirata as Vinsmoke Sanji. The Straw Hat Pirates will be facing new challenges and try to overcome them in their fun and unique ways in the long-running series.
Following the success of the Netflix adaptation of One Piece, Crunchyroll brings the original anime to steam on their app and website.
