Actress Moses Ingram will feature alongside Thor: Love and Thunder actress Natalie Portman in Lady in the Lake, an upcoming series on streaming platform Apple TV Plus.

Ingram, who recently starred in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Star-Wars spin-off, replaces Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, who exited the project in May, according to Deadline.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ingram played the role of Reva Sevander, an Inquisitor who was tasked with seeking out the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Owen McGregor). She not only played the role of the menacing fanatic with perfection but also engaged in an enthralling lightsaber battle with Darth Vader.

Besides her major role in the Disney+ series, Ingram also starred in the Netflix miniseries The Queen’s Gambit. In the show, she played the role of Jolene, the lead character of Beth Harmon’s (Anya Taylor-Joy) childhood friend.

The latest show that Ingram will feature in is based on the 2019 novel Lady in the Lake by author Laura Lipman. The story takes place in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother Maddie Schwartz (Portman) to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist and sets her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Ingram) — a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, jobs and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore's Black progressive agenda.

In addition to Portman and Ingram, the series will also star Y'Lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman.

The show was greenlighted in 2021 and its filming began in April 2022.

Lady in the Lake will be directed and co-written by filmmaker Alma Har'el who is known for her 2019 feature film Honey Boy. She will be collaborating with The Man In The High Castle writer Dre Ryan for the series. Lady in the Lake, which hails from Endeavor Content, will be produced by Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America. Har'el will executive produce alongside Christopher Leggett through her new production company Zusa and Portman.
