Netflix has dropped the trailer for the highly-anticipated fourth and final season of the beloved comedy drama Sex Education. The two-minute-23-second video offers a tantalising glimpse into the tumultuous final instalment of the show, promising a rollercoaster of emotions, humour and growth for our favourite characters.

The previous season had left fans in shock as Moordale Secondary School erupted in rebellion against the oppressive regime of its head teacher, Hope Haddon (Jemima Kirke). This resulted in the school being shut down and us fans eagerly awaiting what’s next for Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and the rest of the Moordale gang.

The Season 4 trailer reveals that our beloved characters have started a new chapter in their lives, enrolling at Cavendish Sixth Form College. This institution is a far cry from the conservative Moordale, encouraging students to express themselves freely.

However, Otis faces a significant challenge in this new environment — the presence of a student therapist on the campus, played by none other than Thaddea Graham, known for her role in Doctor Who. This poses roadblocks in Otis’s plans to establish himself as a sex counsellor at the new college.

One of the most anticipated storylines in the upcoming season is the evolution of Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey). In the previous season, Maeve had left for the US on a scholarship, separating her from her love interest, Otis. The trailer hints at a long-distance relationship filled with intimacy as well as challenges.

The trailer playfully warns viewers to ‘get your tissues ready’ with the final season all set to stream on Netflix from September 21.
