Netflix has released the trailer of their upcoming comedy series Uncoupled starring Neil Patrick Harris of How I met Your Mother fame. This romcom about a gay man of middle-age promises to be a hilarious, heart-warming ride.
In the trailer, Harris stars as Michael, a successful NYC real estate agent who has everything he could possibly want: a thriving career, a close group of friends, and a loving relationship with his boyfriend of 17 years. But after his boyfriend breaks up with him, everything falls apart.
Co-created by Darren Star of Sex and the City and Emily in Paris, Uncoupled will start streaming on Netflix from July 29.
Good Luck Jerry
The trailer of Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming dark comedy film Good Luck Jerry was released by Disney+ Hotstar on Thursday.
Janhvi, who plays the lead role of Jaipreet ‘Jerry’ Sethi in the film, shared the link to the trailer on Instagram on Thursday. She captioned it with a dialogue from the film, “FINALLY! Miliye Jerry se. Aur yaad rakhiye- hum jitne dikhte hain, utne hain nahi 🤫 😉 😈 #GoodLuckJerry streaming from 29th July on @disneyplushotstar #TrailerOutNow.”
The trailer shows Janhvi as a woman from Bihar, who is struggling to find a job in Punjab and take care of her mother, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She ends up becoming a fearless drug dealer.
The two-minute-50-seconds-long trailer also introduced Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles. Good Luck Jerry is the remake of the 2018 Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila, starring Nayanthara in the lead role.
13: The Musical
Netflix dropped the trailer for the coming-of-age musical 13: The Musical. Based on the book and Broadway musical titled 13, the movie will follow the relatable struggles of middle school student Evan Goldman (played by Eli Golden). Evan has to cope with his parents’ divorce, a shift from New York to Indiana and his upcoming Bar Mitzvah ceremony.
13: The Musical trailer promises a colourful, toe-tapping musical experience which one can compare with the High School Musical movies. The movie also features Josh Peck in a humorous cameo role as Rabbi Shapiro.
The film will start streaming on Netflix from August 12.
Drifting Home
The trailer of Studio Colorado’s third feature anime film Drifting Home was also released by Netflix. Helmed by Penguin Highway director Hiroyasu Ishida, the film looks to be a dreamy mix of mystery and nostalgia.
The film follows two childhood friends who go to play in the now-abandoned apartment building where they grew up, only to suddenly find themselves floating through a watery world with their old neighbourhood no longer in sight. Drifting Home will be streaming from September 16.
Comicstaan Season 3
Amazon Prime Video on Thursday released a sneak peek of the upcoming Season 3 of comedy reality show Comicstaan.
In the short three-and-half-minute video, Prime Video shared exclusive glimpses from the brand new season of the show, which brings together all the popular faces of stand-up comedy under the same roof.
The new season stars familiar faces like Zakir Khan, Sumukhi Suresh, Neeti Palta, Kenny Sebastian, Rahul Subramanian, Aadar Malik, Anu Menon, Rohan Joshi, Prashasti Singh, Kanan Gill, Aakash Gupta, Kusha Kapila, Abish Mathew and Rahul Dua, along with new contestants.
Kleo
The trailer for Netflix’s Kleo, a new German-language thriller series, shows a former spy hellbent on revenge, following the fall of the Berlin wall.
“After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a woman wants revenge and answers to all her questions. But who is this woman?” Netflix captioned the trailer.
With its strain of dark comedy mixed with some fairly brutal violence, this one looks like it’ll channel some serious energy from Killing Eve’s diabolical assassin Villanelle.
