Actress Nayanthara’s biopic, titled Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale, is set to hit Netflix on November 18, the streamer announced on Wednesday, promising a glimpse into the Jawan star’s journey to stardom.
“In every universe, she’s the brightest star Watch the lady superstar and her stellar journey on Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale on 18 November, only on Netflix,” the streamer wrote on social media, sharing a poster of the upcoming documentary film.
The poster features Nayanthara striking a pose in a black dress, glancing back at the camera as the background buzzes with the flashing lights of cameras.
A teaser of the documentary, dropped by the makers last month, offers a glimpse into the extensive preparations behind Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s star-studded wedding on June 9, 2022 in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. The ceremony was attended by several industry heavyweights, including Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi and A.R. Rahman. Nayanthara and Vignesh welcomed their twin sons, Uyir and Ulagam, in October of the same year.
The teaser opens with Vignesh Shivan being asked, “Why Nayanthara?” The filmmaker responds humorously, “Angelina Jolie also asked, but she isn’t from south India.” Nayanthara, known as the “Lady Superstar”, comments, “I don’t understand the tags or titles,” while Vignesh adds, “More than Nayanthara the actress, she’s a wonderful human being.” The 39-year-old actress also shares that, though she was never a “filmi kid”, she strives to give her hundred per cent in everything she does.
Nayanthara, who made her Hindi film debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan in 2023, was last seen in Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food. She is set to appear in Test alongside R. Madhavan and Siddharth.
Additionally, the 39-year-old actress will be seen in the Malayalam film Dear Students alongside her Love Action Drama co-star Nivin Pauly.
Nayanthara will also star alongside Kavin in Vishu Edavan’s yet-untitled directorial debut.
Vignesh, on the other hand, is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming directorial venture Love Insurance Kompany, which stars Pradeep Ranganathan, S. J. Suryah, Krithi Shetty, Yogi Babu, Muhammed Rasool, Gouri G. Kishan, Sha Ra and Seeman in key roles. The film is produced by Nayanthara.
