After four months of friendship, romance and fierce competition, Bigg Boss 16, hosted by Salman Khan, came to a close on Sunday with rapper MC Stan lifting the winner’s trophy. Here are some top moments from the celebrity reality show’s grand finale.

Shalin Bhanot lands lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s new show

Ekta Kapoor offered a brand-new show titled Bekabu to Shalin Bhanot, who was eliminated in the finale. Only a few weeks ago Ekta had visited the sets of Bigg Boss 16 and offered a role to Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia in her upcoming production Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2. At the same time, the producer had announced that she would be offering the lead role in a new show to yet another housemate. Ekta fulfilled that promise on Sunday.

Rs 10 lakh added to the prize money

Bigg Boss added an additional Rs 10 lakh to the prize money of Bigg Boss 16 after the contestants passed a guessing game with flying colours. The five finalists — Shiv Thakare, Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary, MC Stan, Archana Gautam and Shalin Bhanot — were asked to guess which housemate would be eliminated at the fifth position. All of them took Shalin’s name, except the latter, who felt Archana would leave the house. But he eventually rallied behind the decision of the housemates. And they were right as Shalin was the first finalist to be eliminated on Sunday.

Salman applauds Priyanka’s spirit

Priyanka was eliminated at the third position, leaving the viewers and ex-contestants shocked. However, the Udaariyaan actress left the house with grace and a smile on her face. While her boyfriend Ankit Gupta was in tears after her elimination, host Salman Khan applauded her fighting spirit. “Everyone thought that she would win Bigg Boss 16. She fought alone and despite several hardships left with a smile. In my opinion, she is the real winner,” Salman said.

Gadar 2 stars in the house

Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel, the stars of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, joined Salman Khan in the finale. They asked the top four contestants to gather in the activity area of the Bigg Boss 16 house where four hand pumps were placed. The contestants had to uproot the hand pump with their names on it. The status of the housemates (safe or eliminated) was mentioned at the base of the hand pumps. While Shiv, Stan and Priyanka were safe in this task, Archana’s hand pump said ‘eliminated’ and she was evicted.

‘You Very Chaalaak Bro’

Tajikistan singer Abdu Rozik, one of the most adorable ex-contestants of the show, unveiled his new song at the Bigg Boss 16 finale. Titled You Very Chaalaak Bro, the song was inspired by his catchphrase that became popular during his stint on the show. The former contestant said he was overwhelmed by the love he received in India.

‘Naiyo Lagda’

Amping up anticipation for his next big-ticket film, host Salman Khan launched the first song Naiyo Lagda from his upcoming movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan during the finale. Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, the romantic melody was brought to life by the sizzling chemistry between Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde. Kamaal Khan and Palak Muchhal have sung this number written by Shabbir Ahmed. It has been shot at picturesque locations in Ladakh.

Scintillating dance performances

The grand finale was also marked by terrific dance performances by the five finalists and ex-contestants of the show. Sajid Khan, Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Shiv Thakare and MC Stan put up a heartwarming act that celebrated their bond as the ‘Mandali’ gang. Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary and Ankit Gupta celebrated their relationship through a performance to the song Is Deewane Ladke Ko. Shalin Bhanot grooved to the beats of Bijli, while Archana Gautam entertained the viewers by shaking her leg to Hawa Hawai. Priyanka and Shiv also performed together in an act that highlighted their rivalry.
