Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi recently filmed a dance sequence for a Shivratri song for their upcoming Telugu movie Thandel, show pictures shared by the film’s official X page on Monday.
The makers have reportedly incorporated 1,000 dancers for the sequence, which was filmed in an old Shiva temple in Srikakulam.
“A musical treat for the Shiva-Parvati. This splendid song from #Thandel will be remembered for long. From the beats of Rockstar @ThisIsDSP to the visual of stellar dance by Yuvasamrat @chay_akkineni & @Sai_Pallavi92, this song will be special for every reason,” the film’s official page mentioned on the microblogging site.
Chaitanya and Sai, who play star-crossed lovers in the film, are dressed in traditional outfits and are surrounded by dancers, with some of them portraying Goddess Kali. A Shiva idol on a cave wall forms the background.
Thandel revolves around a fisherman, played by Chaitanya, from Srikakulam who accidentally ventures into Pakistan along with his fellows and gets imprisoned by authorities. He must now break free to return to his love interest, played by Sai, in India.
Both Chaitanya and Sai had previously worked together in Sekhar Kammula’s 2021 film Love Story.
The shooting for Thandel, which has been dubbed as a patriotic movie by the makers, began at the end of December last year. “Team #Thandel begins an adrenaline pumping schedule in middle of the oceans 🌊Shoot in progress 🎥,” the official page had written on X.
Shamdat has worked on the cinematography for the film, while Devi Sri Prasad has composed the soundtrack. Produced by Bunny Vasu and Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts, Thandel is set to release in theatres later this year.
