A visibly emotional Applegate couldn’t help cracking a joke, “You're totally shaming me [and my] disability by standing up,” adding a witty nod to the weight loss drug Ozempic.

Marla Gibbs’ caustic wit

Marla Gibbs, known for playing Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons, received immense love from the audience while presenting an award with Quinta Brunson. As Brunson complimented her career spanning decades, Gibbs quipped, “That's easy, baby. (It's because of) the wage gap.”

Jennifer Coolidge's ‘Evil Gays’ nod

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler's reunion

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the dynamic duo from Saturday Night Live, reunited to present an award for Outstanding Live Variety Special and delivered a brilliant comedic bit. “We’ve reached the stage in life where we’ll only present awards sitting down,” Fey joked, leaving the audience in splits.

Kieran Culkin asks wife for more babies

Succession star Kieran Culkin, after winning Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, surprised the audience by announcing his desire for more children during his acceptance speech. Expressing his gratitude to his wife, Jazz Charton, Culkin said, “Thank you for sharing your life with me and giving me two amazing kids. And Jazz, I want more. You said maybe if I win. I love you so much. Thank you.”

Pedro Pascal's broken-arm revelation

Pedro Pascal took the stage at the Emmys on Monday with a broken arm, but added a dose of humour by making light of his injury. “Kieran Culkin beat the s*** out of me,” he jokingly remarked as the camera zoomed in on Culkin giving a fierce glare to Pedro, until the star of Succession couldn’t hold back his laughter. This moment appeared to be a playful reference to Culkin’s Golden Globe victory during which he had humorously told his fellow nominee, “Suck it, Pedro.”

The Bear kiss

The unexpected on-stage kiss between real-life chef Matty Matheson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach from the Emmy-winning show The Bear became the night's most talked-about moment. The comedy duo’s snog left the audience in stitches after The Bear won Outstanding Comedy Series.

Sarah Snook's sweet shoutout

Sarah Snook, winner of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, dedicated the award to her baby girl, expressing gratitude for the strength her daughter provided during the shooting of the final season. She said the shoutout “is to someone who won't understand anything that I’m saying at the moment, but I carried her with me in this last season. And really, it was her who carried me.”

“It's very easy to act when you're pregnant because you’ve got hormones raging. It was more that the proximity of her life growing inside me gave me the strength to do this and this performance, and I love you so much,” she concluded her speech
