Following the success of MasterChef India’s Hindi version, two new regional editions of the cooking reality show — in Tamil and Telugu — will soon premiere on SonyLIV, the streaming platform has announced.
The panel of judges for the Tamil-language show will feature culinary experts Koushik Shankar, Shreeya Adka and Rakesh Raghunathan. The panel for the Telugu-language show will have chefs Sanjay Thumma, Nikitha Umesh and Chalapathi Rao.
According to SonyLIV, regional versions of the show are likely to establish a sense of relatability and highlight the regional diversity of India while showcasing the unique culinary identity of each region.
Auditions for the southern adaptations will be held nationwide, promising fierce competition for the viewers to enjoy.
MasterChef India’s Hindi-language show released its eighth season on October 16, with new episodes streaming exclusively on SonyLIV. This season, chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar are joined by Pooja Dhingra.
The first season of MasterChef India – Tamil and MasterChef India – Telugu was produced by Sun TV in 2021. However, the series that is being produced by SonyLIV may not be a continuation of the previously discontinued show.
