Alia Bhatt refers to the Koffee With Karan couch as “Controversial with a K”, while Kareena Kapoor Khan refuses to talk about her rumoured feud with Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel in a new promo video of the Karan Johar-hosted celebrity chat show, dropped by Disney+ Hotstar on Monday.
The video begins with Karan’s voiceover saying that Alia is like his “first-born”, while Kareena is his “spirit soulmate” as the two actresses enter the stage one by one. Kareena sports a white off-shoulder dress, while Alia wears a deep brown shimmery outfit. The duo indulge in a banter with Karan on the host’s famous couch for guests.
Their banter starts with Karan asking the duo to decide who is a “bhabhi” and who is a “jethaani”. This stems from the fact that Kareena is Alia’s sister-in-law as Ranbir Kapoor, the latter’s husband, is Kareena’s cousin. Kareena confidently replies, “I’m not anyone’s bhabhi.”
Later in the video, Kareena asks Karan about his activity just after waking up. The talk show host replies with a cheeky smile, “Ask me no secrets, I’ll tell you no lies.”
Karan then takes the conversation into a different course by introducing a new game called ‘vibe check’, leaving Alia surprised. Kareena is soon seen trolling Karan after he teases her about her pout in her selfies. The Jaane Jaan actress tells Karan that he pouts in pictures more than her and makes fun of his camera angles.
After Karan asks Kareena if she considers Deepika Padukone as her competition, the latter replies that this question should be asked to Alia instead in her rapid-fire round. Karan smirks and says, “Aa gayi na line pey.”
At the end of the video, Karan attacks Kareena by asking her why she didn’t attend Gadar 2’s success party. Karan reminds her about her rumoured feud with Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel. To this, Kareena looks away from Karan and says, “I am ignoring Karan, as you all can see”.
Kareena was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix thriller Jaane Jaan alongside Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Her next film, The Buckingham Murders, was recently screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Alia, on the other hand, last appeared in the Netflix film Heart of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, marking her Hollywood debut.
