Karan Johar on Tuesday put to rest speculations about Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and revealed more about surprise cameos in the upcoming film during a live session on Instagram.

Responding to a question from a user, Karan said though Shah Rukh was not part of the film, his blessings have always been with the project.

The filmmaker also revealed that there are three surprise cameos in the film but refused to divulge more details. He said the next song from the movie would be released on July 11.

The rumours of Shah Rukh and Kajol making an appearance in the film had been fuelled last month when the Pathaan actor launched the teaser of the movie. Shah Rukh had made a special appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), Karan Johar’s previous outing as a director.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Churni Ganguly, Tota Roy Choudhury and Namit Das in key roles. It is slated to release on July 28.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani revolves around the love story of Rocky (Ranveer) and Rani (Alia), who come from different backgrounds. Uncertain about how to win the approval of their families, they decide to switch homes in an attempt to impress their respective parents. The official trailer of the movie dropped on Tuesday to a tremendous response from fans.
