Director Tapan Saha has wrapped up the shoot of the KLiKK web series Kalimpong Krimes, a gripping whodunnit. The web series stars Debleena Dutt Mukherjee, Arjun Chakraborty, Payel Mukherjee, Srijani Mitra and Trambak Roy Chowdhury. “My character is named Saira and the story is that a movie crew have arrived at a hill station to shoot their movie and unfortunately accidents start to happen. Saira is the supporting actor in the film within film but she has a lot of shades to her character and the story revolves around her struggles and clashes with crew members and eventually her murder. This is a perfect combo of thrills, suspense and emotions,” says actress Payel Mukherjee. In Kalimpong Krimes, the traits of a host of characters — from heroines, a hero, director, manager, cinematographer, scriptwriter to assistant directors — are revealed over time. A woman police officer and a senior crime investigator join the mystery trail. “The experience was amazing... this was my first work as a director for a web series. We did 14 to15 scenes every day and this was a big challenge for me. The actors have delivered great performances and the locations in Kalimpong were mind-blowing. Arjun Chakraborty and Debleena’s looks stand out,” says director Tapan Saha.

Payel also found the shooting locations to be fascinating. “We explored all over Kalimpong and the surrounding areas. It was so exciting that I had to play with different possibilities in my murder scene. In this web series, my character was stabbed, killed by a rope around the neck, thrown off the side of the hill,” smiles Payel. For Srijani Mitra, it was a whole new, enriching experience. “Since the weather was so good, our energy levels were always up. My character is called Mallika, she is a renowned actress... she has gone for a shoot in the hills and mysterious things start happening... to know more about the story and Mallika you have to watch the series,” smiles Srijani.
