Jr NTR-starrer Devara: Part 1 and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders are set to drop on Netflix this Friday, the streamer has announced.
Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, stars Jr NTR in a double role alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada on September 27, grossing an impressive Rs 420.75 crore worldwide.
The story of Devara: Part 1 is set in the rugged terrains of Yerra Samudram near the Andhra-Tamil Nadu border, where four clans, once warrior allies, now exploit their skills for illegal activities. NTR Jr. stars as Devara, a clan leader whose moral shift after a tragic incident pits him against his closest friend, Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), who aims to control the arms-smuggling route. After an attack on Devara, orchestrated by Bhaira, the former disappears. Years later, Devara’s son, Vara (also NTR Jr.), a pacifist, must confront Bhaira while navigating his bond with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor), torn between love and discontent.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s critically-acclaimed The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta, is also preparing for its OTT release, just two months after its theatrical debut. The film, co-produced by Kareena along with Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, revolves around Jass Bhamra, a cop investigating the disappearance of a young boy. Joining her in the ensemble are celebrity chef-actor Ranveer Brar, Sanjeev Mehra, Zain Hussain and Rukku Nahar.
