Singer Jonita Gandhi, who has lent her voice with Amit Trivedi for Angrezi Luv Shuv in Canadian director Ken Scott’s The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, starring Dhanush, said she is happy to be associated with the film. “It’s wonderful to see Indo-Canadians making their mark with international work,” she said.

The English-language French adventure comedy film released on June 21. Trivedi, who has both composed and sang Angrezi Luv Shuv, has earlier performed with Jonita on live shows.

“Co-singing this song with him was an honour. The musical tastes he infuses into his compositions are some of my favourites. I love his style,” she said, adding that people are loving the song for its melody. “It’s a cute song with a lot of feel.”

The 29-year-old singer has also collaborated with A.R. Rahman on the Alia Bhatt-starrer Highway and is all praise for the maestro. “His humility and ability to help me discover things about myself and my voice, was the best part about working with him.”

Trained in both western and Hindustani classical music, Jonita insists she can’t choose when asked to pick between the two. “I love to sing and for me it’s not about liking one genre over another.”

Ask her to pick her favourite composer of all time though and she mulls: “Tough one... I can’t pick one. But in terms of Bollywood... maybe RD Burman.”
