Actress Jennifer Garner wished her fellow Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon on the latter’s 48th birthday by performing a saxophone solo in a lush garden on Friday, shows a video shared by the 13 Going on 30 star.
“Two things I love: @reesewitherspoon and smooth jazz. Happy birthday, RW! XX,” Garner captioned her video on Instagram.
The video shows Garner sitting in a garden and putting on sunglasses before beginning her solo performance. As she plays the saxophone, various pictures and clips of Witherspoon appear on the screen. The clips show Witherspoon at press events where she waves at the cameras. They also show her and Garner spending time together, laughing to their heart’s content. The video concludes with Garner taking off her sunglasses and sighing out of exhaustion.
“C'mon now, Garner! Making us all smile 😀,” Witherspoon commented on her friend’s video.
Fans were in awe of the performance as most of them did not know that Garner had a knack for playing the saxophone. “Wow Jennifer, I was not aware that you played the sax, awesome,” one of them wrote. “Yes! Saxophone Jennifer is a legend,” another wrote.
During a panel discussion at Hello Sunshine's Inaugural Shine Away Event held in Los Angeles last year, Garner opened up about how Witherspoon has supported her through an extremely difficult phase in her life. The two actresses have been friends for over two decades.
The Legally Blonde actress thanked everyone for showering her with their heartfelt wishes on her birthday. “Feeling very grateful for all the wonderful birthday wishes! 💗🤗 Thank you to all of YOU who send me love and light from all over the world ✨💫🌟,” she wrote alongside a picture of her at a beach.
Other celebrities who wished Witherspoon a happy birthday on social media included her Morning Show co-star Jennifer Aniston and actress Octavia Spencer, who starred alongside her in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.
Aniston took to her Instagram stories and shared a hilarious clip from her 1990s show Friends in which Witherspoon played her sister Jill. In the subsequent stories, the Morning Show star shared several pictures with Witherspoon, calling her “the ultimate collaborator”, “co-anchor”, “partner”, “friend” and her “ray of sunshine”.
Spencer, on the other hand, shared a picture with the birthday girl to wish her. “Today is an especially special Friday because it’s @reesewitherspoon’s birthday! Thank you Reese for always honoring all women, everywhere! Please join me in the comments in wishing Reese the happiest of birthdays,” The Shape of Water actress wrote.
Witherspoon was last seen in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show alongside Aniston. She also starred in the Netflix romantic comedy Your Place or Mine last year. She has the third instalment of her iconic 2001 comedy Legally Blonde in the pipeline.
