After playing an underworld don in his last production Chengiz, Jeet has dropped the trailer of his next, Manush — Child of Destiny.
Directed by Sanjoy Somadder, the film revolves around a common man who finds himself entangled in extraordinary circumstances. The crime thriller features Jeet as an elite officer of the anti-narcotics division and a highly devoted family man who fights the drug world.
“I am very happy to bring a multi-starrer film packed with action, drama and thrills in the festive season,” said Jeet.
The ensemble cast features Sushmita Chatterjee, Jeetu Kamal, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim and Saurav Chakrabarti.
“The character I am playing is an embodiment of love, responsibility, strength and vulnerability,”
added Sushmita.
“For the first time, I am playing a character with grey shades. It’s really like a dark symphony where every note of wickedness is played with a masterful touch,” said Jeetu Kamal, who shot to fame as ‘Satyajit Ray’ in Anik Dutta’s Aparajito.
The music is composed by Savvy and Aneek Dhar. Produced by Jeetz Filmworks, Manush will release on November 24 in Bengali and Hindi.
Dev and Paran Bandyopadhyay pair up post-Tonic
After the success of Tonic, Dev has paired up again with Paran Bandopadhyay for Pradhan, which will release this Christmas.
Directed by Avijit Sen, Pradhan revolves around values and relationships that hold a mirror to the society.
“Pradhan gave me the opportunity to work with two of my favourite actors, Paranda and Dev, again after Tonic. The chemistry between them is unparalleled and it has been such an amazing experience,” said Sen.
“Atanu Roy Chowdhury and Avijit Sen have known me for some time and they created a character in Pradhan that closely resembles me. The character of Deepak Pradhan has striking similarities to how I speak and carry myself. Pradhan is sure to make a lot of noise,” said Dev.
The cast of Pradhan includes Soham, Anirban Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, Biswanath Basu, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Konineeca Banerjee and Soumitrisha Kundu.
