Team Tolly got together to celebrate the birthday of director Ram Kamal Mukherjee at Chapter 2 recently. Despite a sudden shower, the guests turned up with warm smiles. Kaushik Ganguly, Churni Ganguly, Paoli Dam, Ankush, Oindrila, Rupa Ganguly, Vikram Chatterjee, Gautam Halder, Iman Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty and others graced the party. Paoli brightened up the evening with her dance moves. Rupa sang a Rabindrasangeet, while Iman created a storm with her vocal magic. Anwesha came with her parents and left early. The ‘happy birthdays’ and ‘congratulations’ rang out loud and clear.

Ankush and Oindrilla made their entry during the cake-cutting ceremony. They mingled with guests and cheered the singers who gave an impromptu performance. Rudranil Ghosh kept the party alive till late into the night with his stories.

“This was a special evening for me indeed. I was celebrating my birthday in Calcutta after almost two decades since I shifted base to Mumbai. Friends and colleagues from the Bengali film industry turned up to wish me on my special day. Birthdays are just another day in the calendar unless you have someone special to make you feel special. I was missing my wife Sarbani and son Rian while cutting half a dozen cakes and unwrapping gifts from well-wishers. It was 2am when everyone left. The night was quiet, barring a few honks that broke the silence. My car was full of flowers with no space for me to sit. The sky was changing its colour, and it was another day,” said Ram.
