Indiana Jones star Christian Klepser and her two daughters died on Thursday in a plane crash off the coast of a Caribbean island, confirmed Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force on social media.

Known to fans as Christian Oliver, the 51-year-old actor and his daughters — Madita (10) and Annik (12) — were passengers aboard a single-engine aircraft piloted by Robert Sachs that crashed into the sea near a Caribbean Island named Bequia sometime around midday.

Their bodies were recovered from the aircraft and then transported to St. Vincent’s Kingstown mortuary, where post-mortem examinations are expected to be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.

“The aircraft went airborne from the J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm about 12:11 p.m. for St. Lucia as its final destination. Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean,” the official page of RSVG Police Force wrote on Facebook.

Further investigation into the matter is being carried out.

Filmmaker Nick Lyon, who directed Klesper in Forever Hold Your Peace, took to Instagram on Friday, sharing his tribute for the late actor. “This is our 5th film together. @christianoliverofficial and I produced this one, and this is our last day of filming,” he wrote. “We talked about producing a film together for years and finally did it! Thank you for being a great colleague, actor and friend @christianoliverofficial,” the Los Angeles–based film director concluded his note.

Klepser’s Forever Hold Your Peace co-star Bai Ling also penned a tribute. “Dear Christian Oliver @christianoliverofficial with tears in my eyes I cannot express the sorrow I felt when our direct Nick called me not long ago, that the plane he took had crashed , including his beautiful 2 daughters and the pilot had all passed! In the Caribbean. He was having holidays,” she wrote.

Expressing her shock over the news, Ling wrote, “We were supposed to have one day pick up shot tomorrow….I cried cried , it was our first and last film together, I loved working with him so much, but luckily you can see our #film it’s called #foreverholdyourpeace.”

Klepser, a Germany-born US actor, embarked on his acting career in 1994 with a 26-episode role on the show Saved by the Bell: The New Class. Between 2006 and 2008, he appeared alongside Hollywood stars like George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Cate Blanchett.
