Shifting from the big screen to the digital space hasn’t contained Rohit Shetty’s penchant for action scenes involving cars as blasts and high-octane action scenes involving Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi fill the teaser of the director’s Prime Video cop drama series Indian Police Force.

Dropped by Prime Video on December 16, the one minute-two-second-long video is set in Shetty’s cop universe and begins with a boom— quite literally so. We see blasts everywhere with glass shards flying as Sidharth, Shilpa and Vivek try to defuse explosive situations. Car chases through the main street result in overturned vehicles, a staple in Shetty’s big-screen movies, as the background music heightens the tension.

Shetty and all the three lead actors shared the teaser on their official Instagram handles. Labelling Indian Police Force as his “homecoming”, the director wrote on Instagram, “Cars, cops, action, high voltage drama and dialogue baazi. Back to basics.”

Indian Police Force will also mark Shetty’s OTT directorial debut.

Co-directed by Sushwanth Prakash and produced by Shetty under the banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Reliance Entertainment, Indian Police Force is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 19, 2024.

The 49-year-old filmmaker’s cop universe already has films like Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014), Simmba (2018) and Sooryavanshi (2021). His next film in the Singham franchise — Singham 3 — has a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
