The Hoichoi series Bodhon has been renewed for a sequel, Bodhon 2, in which Sandipta Sen returns as Raka Sen and Koushik Roy returns in the character of her husband Riju. Directed by Aditi Roy, the series is a continuance of Raka’s journey as a justice seeker but this time in a new location in the interiors of Bengal. The area is infamous for its air of eeriness and treacherous landscape. The perils of being in an isolated rural area "can make someone privy to a lot of judgement and vulnerable to physical and mental acts of invasion". Bodhon 2 is a testament to Raka Sen’s strength and sense of justice.
“I am eagerly waiting for Raka Sen to return to the audience and be the voice of justice. Raka is a character who wears her heart on her sleeve and is not afraid to speak her mind. Shooting at such a place was one of the biggest hurdles we had to face, the area being a secluded one and the people being averse to foreign culture. I hope people acknowledge that while they watch the series and bestow the same love upon the series as Bodhon," said Sandipta Sen.
“While we were shooting in such an isolated location, with no network, we felt completely disconnected from the outside world. It was almost like we were in a world within a world, a country within a country. Sometimes, we even felt, 'What if something happens and we cannot reach out to anyone, then what will happen?' However, we overcame these situations and Sandipta did a brilliant job of portraying Raka. The chemistry between Raka and Riju was brewing from Season 1 but we see a new side to it in Season 2, at a new place and under hazardous circumstances. Bodhon 2 is a perfect Puja release, being an epitome of female empowerment and the first social thriller of its kind," said series director Aditi Roy.
