While we can all fight over Team Jeremiah and Team Conrad, one thing is for sure – The Summer I Turned Pretty streaming on Amazon Prime Video is as heartwarming as a cup of cocoa. Jenny Han, the author of both the adapted novels has a way with words which can be seen by the mega success of both To All The Boys I Loved Before franchise as well as The Summer I Turned Pretty. Jenny Han has been in the news for quite some time, not only for her successful novel series but also because she was the mastermind behind the inclusion of some of your favourite songs in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Now that Season 2 is officially in the works, here are five other TV shows you can watch on Netflix while waiting for the return of the Fisher boys.

Heartstopper

Adapted from the bestselling graphic novels by Alice Oseman, Heartstopper explores the journey of two highschoolers, Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, as they understand their feelings for each other. This coming-of-age series not only represents the ups and downs of high school but also chronicles the journey of LGBTQ+ members of that school. Other than Charlie and Nick, there are a number of characters who are also on a journey of self-discovery. Netflix confirmed two more seasons, which just means more of the cute love story between Charlie and Nick.

Sex Education

The hit web series, Sex Education, is a comedy drama around the lives of students, parents and the staff at Moordale Secondary School. This British comedy drama deals with the topic of sex education in a fun way but also makes it an important part of growing up. Protagonists Otis and Maeve set up a sex clinic to help students at Moordale with their sexual dillemas but Otis soon finds himself attracted to Maeve, which complicates their successful business.

Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is the equivalent of a hot cup of tea on a rainy day. This American drama, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, explores the life of the mother-daughter duo of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. While Rory is a student, Lorelai is the manager of an inn at Stars Hollow where the two live. The show, witty at its core, also tracks the journey of discovering familial relationships.

The Baby-Sitters Club

Adapted from the children’s novel of the same name by Ann M. Martin, The Baby-Sitters Club follows the friendships and lives of five middle-schoolers, who decide to start a babysitting service for their neighbourhood. The series not only focuses on girlhood but also explores the complicated relationships that the girls have with themselves. Though the series got cancelled after two seasons, it received critical acclaim for its depiction of girlhood.

Julie and the Phantoms

Ever thought of making a band with three ghosts? Well, Julie does exactly that after befriending three ghosts who were members of the boy band, Sunset Curve, before their untimely death. Julie and the Phantoms boasted a talented cast of Madison Reyes and Charlie Gillespie, among others, but was axed after only one season by Netflix even though this musical web series had gained a huge fan following. Soon after its cancellation, petitions started circulating to renew the show.
