In Srijit Mukherji’s film Tekka, Dev plays the role of Iqlakh, a man on a mission. He hails from a humble background, is angry and frustrated with socio-economic disparities and has a score to settle with those who belong to the privileged sections of society. Iqlakh has been fired from his job and he wants his employers to return him his job in exchange for the safe return of the child. Rukmini Maitra, as Maya, the cop whose job it is to rescue the abducted child, is presented as a brave, committed and no-nonsense officer, in charge of the negotiations with Iqlakh, who is holed up along with his hostage in one of the topmost floors of a skyscraper. Swastika Mukherjee as Ira is the mother of the kidnapped girl. Team Tekka recently got together for the film premiere at PVR-INOX (South City).
