Warner Bros. revealed the first-look character posters for Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, Zendaya’s Chani, Rebecca Ferguson’s Lady Jessica, Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan and Austin Butler’s Feyd-Rautha from Dune: Part Two on Sunday.
The sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film Dune, adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1965 epic sci-fi novel of the same name, will catch up from the events of the last film. In the new movie, Atreides will be uniting with Chani and the Fremen to avenge his family.
Most of the cast members from the original movie, including Chalamet, Zendaya, Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem, will be returning for the sequel.
Apart from giving a glimpse of Florence Pugh and Austin Butler’s characters, the character posters also reveal Dave Bautista as Beast Rabban, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, Stellan Skarsgård as The Baron and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV.
Pugh, who plays the Emperor’s daughter, looks unapologetic, while Bautista’s bald avatar roars with rage. Brolin looks at a far-off place in the desert with a serious expression, while Bardem, the leader of the Fremen, looks back as if he’s being pursued.
Dune: Part Two is slated to arrive in theatres on March 1, 2024.
