The first film from Hoichoi Studios — Shri Swapankumar-er Badami Hyena’r Kobole — is slated for a theatrical release. Directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, and inspired by the famous pulp stories of Swapankumar, the film stars Abir Chatterjee in the lead as Deepak Chatterjee, a detective in his novels, along with Paran Bandyopadhyay as the writer Swapankumar. Shruti Das takes on the role of Tashi and Pratik Dutta is seen as Ratanlal. In a city threatened by the international terrorist Badami Hyena, a forgotten detective, Deepak Chatterjee, is brought out of retirement by his creator, prolific pulp writer Swapankumar. They unite with Ratanlal, Tashi and other characters in this pulp-drama-mystery-thriller film. There is also a glimpse of Deepak Chatterjee’s most glorious nemesis, Bajhpakhi.

“Creating the looks was one of the most important parts of pre-production for the film. They were carefully selected keeping their descriptions in mind, and I promise it’ll be a taste of something new. This film is slated for a November release,” said Debaloy Bhattacharya.

“I am immensely thrilled to be playing not only the character of Deepak Chatterjee but also to be a part of the first project from Hoichoi Studios,” said Abir.

“Having a number of varied looks really excited me. There is something very distinctive about my character which can only be brought out through her looks and I tried my best to bring the director’s vision to life,” said Shruti.
