Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are teaming up to produce a new film directed by Lee Cronin under New Line Cinema. Details about the upcoming film remain under wraps so far.
Cronin, known for helming 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, will not only direct but also write the upcoming project, which is expected to stay within his horror specialty. The Irish director will also produce the film through his company, Doppelgängers.
Cronin shared the photo of the first page of the screenplay of the upcoming movie on social media. The name of the film was scribbled out. “4.17.26,” the filmmaker wrote in the caption.
New Line Cinema, a division of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, has slated the film for release on April 17, 2026. This project marks the first collaboration between the studio and the heads of Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, James Wan and Jason Blum.
“I’ve got something wickedly entertaining and terrifying hidden up my sleeve, and I can’t wait to bring it screaming to the big screen,” Cronin told American entertainment magazine Variety.
Cronin’s last film Evil Dead Rise was a significant success for New Line, grossing nearly USD 150 million worldwide. His other notable work includes the acclaimed 2019 horror film The Hole in the Ground.
