The 28th edition of 10-day-long European Union Film Festival (EUFF), set to kickstart in New Delhi today, will feature 28 films in 25 languages, the organisers announced on Instagram alongside a schedule of the movies to be screened at the film gala.

The screenings will take place across three locations — The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, the Indian Habitat Center and The Instituto Cervantes. After finishing its New Delhi schedule, the film festival will shift to Chennai, where movies will be screened from January 19 to 28.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the organisers wrote, “From comedy to drama, sci-fi to romance, animation to suspense, we've got you covered at the 28th #EUFF2023! Join us at different locations in this beautiful city as we release our exciting roster of movie screenings - your very own #WindowToEurope!”

European movies Talking About the Weather, Mother, The Eight Mountains and Listen — shot in Germany, Bulgaria, Italy and Greece — will be screened during the festival. The screenings will be free of cost for audiences. However, seats will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The film festival celebrates Europe's rich cinematic history. With movies like The Banshees of Inisherin, which won the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at Golden Globe Awards 2023, and Saint Omer, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival, EUFF features an exciting lineup from drama, comedy, romance and documentary genres.
