Model-turned-actress Erica Fernandes recently said watching horror and thriller movies is a great way to escape the mundane everyday life while talking about her experience of shooting for short horror film The Haunting, streaming on Amazon miniTV from April 21.

“Horror and thriller movies are a great way to escape the mundane everyday life and experience an adrenaline rush. Whether it’s a classic horror movie like The Exorcist or a modern thriller like Get Out, these movies have the power to captivate audiences with their suspenseful storylines, intense music and mysterious characters,” she explained.

The Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress said the climax scene of The Haunting was the most difficult to shoot. “It required a lot of coordination between the actors, crew and the director to get everything just right. Additionally, there were many technical elements, such as lighting and camera angles, that had to be taken into account.”

Erica also spoke extensively about her all-time favourite horror-thriller movie. “My favourite horror-thriller movie is The Conjuring. It is based on real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren who investigate eerie activities at a family house in Rhodes Island. The movie combines elements of horror, suspense and mystery, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end,” she said.

Directed by Tanveer Bookwala, The Haunting features Erica Fernandes alongside Prakruti Mishra and Gul Panag in pivotal roles.

“A young woman, accused of murdering her closest companion, maintains her innocence by alleging that a demon controlled her actions. She asserts that the demon has been haunting her since the death of her sister and that supernatural events occur wherever she goes. To ascertain the truth, a police officer and a psychiatrist must determine if she is genuinely possessed by a demon or if she is the demon herself,” according to the official synopsis of the film.
