Actor Dev’s character poster for the upcoming Srijit Mukherji directorial Tekka was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday.
The poster, which resembles a playing card, showcases Dev in a brown striped shirt and a bearded look. Named Iqlakh, the character is shown holding a broom in his hand.
Sharing the poster on social media, Dev wrote, “In the land of Sahib Bibi Ghulam, there’s more hidden up the sleeve... See you this Puja with Tekka. Desperation has its own rules - When the Jack goes all out, chaos follows. Meet Iqlakh!”.
Slated for an October 8 release, Tekka features Dev in the lead role alongside Rukmini Maitra and Swastika Mukherjee. Character posters for Rukmini’s Maya and Swastika’s Ira were unveiled earlier this month.
Tekka marks Dev’s reunion with Srijit after Zulfiqar (2016). Srijit has co-written the screenplay for the thriller with Bhaskar Chattopadhyay, based on a story by Chattopadhyay. Modhura Palit serves as the cinematographer for the film.
Tekka will clash with Shiboprosad Mukherjee-Nandita Roy’s Bohurupi and Pathikrit Basu’s Shastri at the box office this Durga Puja. Bohurupi features Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and Shiboprosad in key roles. Shastri stars Mithun Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Soham Chakraborty, Rajatava Dutta and Anirban Chakrabarti.
Dev has another film, Soojit Dutta’s Khadaan, slated for release in 2024. The movie also stars Jisshu Sengupta in a key role and is set for a December 20 release.
