Imposing, focused and fearless — Sonakshi Sinha puts on the uniform to play a cop on a mission to hunt down the killers of a number of women in the teaser trailer of Dahaad. The one-minute-nine-second teaser gives a glimpse of the dark and gritty world created by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi in the Amazon Prime Video series.
Sonakshi plays sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati who is investigating the abduction and murders of 27 missing women. The series also stars Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles.
The eight-part crime drama set in a small town will follow Sonakshi and Gulshan — also in the role of a cop — as they investigate the mystery behind several women found dead in public bathrooms. What appears to be suicide at first soon turns out to be a serial killer mystery with Sonakshi’s Anjali getting caught in a cat-and-mouse chase with a seasoned killer on the loose.
Dahaad, which premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival in Germany on February 22 this year, also marks Sonakshi’s OTT debut. The trailer will be released on May 3. The series will stream on Prime Video from May 12.
