Rivals Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) team up to mentor their students for global karate tournament Sekai Taikai in the trailer for Part 1 of Cobra Kai Season 6, dropped by Netflix on Monday.

The two-minute-9-second-long trailer begins by showing Johnny and Daniel coming together for the international tournament and finally being on the same page. We can see the students of Daniel’s Miyagi-Do and Johnny’s Eagle Fang-Do preparing for the tournament together. The video also teases the return of Martin Kove’s John Kreese, who escaped from prison at the end of the last season. Kreese has a new set of students who are likely to compete with Johnny and Daniel’s team at the Sekai Taikai.

At the end of the trailer, Daniel comes across a box that his late sensei Mr. Miyagi had hidden underneath a floorboard, making fans wonder what surprise the legendary karate teacher had in store for them.

The sixth and final season of the hit martial arts drama will have three parts split into 15 episodes each.

“It’s time to return to the dojo! The battle begins Cobra Kai S6 launch July 18, only on Netflix,” Zabka wrote alongside the trailer on Instagram.

“Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate,” reads the official synopsis of the sixth season on Netflix’s Tudum.

Starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña and Peyton List, the first part of Cobra Kai Season 6 will premiere on July 18.

Running for five seasons, Cobra Kai is based on Robert Mark Kamen’s The Karate Kid film series, which also starred Ralph Macchio and William Zabka in the 1984 movie.
