Actor Chiyaan Vikram expressed gratitude to fans for all the love, support and appreciation his latest film Thangalaan has received after the Tamil-language drama breached the Rs 100-crore mark globally on Friday.
"For all the love, support, and appreciation that has made Thangalaan what it is today," Vikram on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, resharing a post by production house Studio Green.
The actor went on to thank his co-stars, including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone in his note. "Parvathy, Malavika, Pasupathy, Daniel, the Thangalaan, and the crew... for the sweat and blood you poured into our labour of love," wrote Vikram.
Vikram also mentioned the film’s composer GV Prakash and director Pa Ranjith.
“Thank you Pa Ranjith for being the beating heart of Thangalaan. And for creating another glorious character for me to play. What a journey,” concluded the actor.
Following Thangalaan’s success, Vikram has confirmed his reunion with Pa Ranjith for a sequel, Thangalaan 2.
Thangalaan is set in the 19th century Kolar gold mines of Karnataka. The narrative is based on a true event that occurred there during British colonial rule.
Thangalaan had its worldwide release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam on August 15. The Hindi version was released in theatres on August 30.
