Singer Celine Dion has cancelled her tour dates for 2023 and 2024 as she continues to deal with a rare neurological disorder.
“I'm so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I'm working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you're 100%,” the 55-year-old Canadian pop singer said in a statement posted on her website.
“It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I'm really ready to be back on stage again. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”
In December 2022, Dion had revealed that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in a tearful video posted for fans. She had to postpone the European leg of her Courage World World Tour until August 2023. “It hurts me to tell you that I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February,” she wrote at that time.
Best known for her rendition of My Heart Will Go On from James Cameron's 1997 period drama Titanic, the singer was recently seen alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in James C. Strouse’s romantic comedy-drama Love Again. This is the first feature film where she portrayed a fictionalised version of herself.
