American singer-songwriter Britney Spears has “crazy girl crushes” on Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Natalie Portman and Camila Cabello. Taking to her Instagram stories on Wednesday, Spears penned a note dedicated to the women from the music and movie industry she “genuinely admires.”

The Toxic singer stated that although as children, we cherish friendships where we “literally finish each other's sentences”, things change when we grow into adults and get married.

“Let’s talk about how your other half growing up is usually your best friend. Y’all literally finish each other's sentences and you don’t really look alike but because you’re always together, your mannerisms, the way you speak, and even walk it’s almost like you’re the same f–king people,” she said.

Britney reflected on the bittersweet reality of adulthood, saying, “Years go by and you get married and you grow up and live worlds apart!!! It’s called life!!!” While she still spends time with her girlfriends occasionally, she admitted, “It’s not the same as when we were younger. But why isn’t it???”

The first name that came to Britney’s mind while making her list was Pamela Anderson, whom she referred to as a “classic babe” and a person who seems to be very sweet.

The Gimme More singer then went on to name Natalie Portman as the “coolest person” she has ever met. She recalled the time the two of them met on the streets of New York, noting that they were wearing the same shirts.

Camila Cabello is the Circus singer’s musical crush. About Camila, who recently performed at this year’s VMAs, Britney said that she is “so darn pretty” and that she makes her “giggle out loud”. Wishing she was more like Camila, Britney wrote, “Her personality is so sweet and kooky, I think it's healthy to be silly.”

Kendall Jenner, too, made it to Britney’s list. The Criminal singer gave a shout-out to the Kardashian sister, complimenting her by asking her fans, “Is it even normal to be that pretty???”

Britney also spoke about Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore, who happen to be her close friends. She addressed them as “literally gorgeous” in her long note, laced with nostalgia, about missing having fun with the girls while she is away working on her novel.

In January this year, Britney confirmed that she is not returning to the music industry and trashed all rumours about a new album. Her post came in response to a report about her collaboration with British singer Charli XCX and US-based singer Julia Michaels on a song for a new album.

Britney’s last music album Glory came out in 2016, following which the singer took to writing. Her memoir, The Woman in Me, published last year, became a bestseller overnight with over 1.1 million copies sold in the first week of its release.
